The aim of Arthur’s Cellar Wine Club is to provide our Members with the opportunity to purchase very special wines that cannot be found at the LCBO retail stores delicious, limited production wines produced by artisan vintners that provide maximum value and drinking pleasure.
We decided to form the wine club because we love sharing fine wines with good friends and family and have always wanted to be involved in the wine trade. To us, wine grapes are very intelligent. They only grow where the weather is fair, the scenery is breathtaking and the people are charming, sincere and hospitable. Our intent is to visit those wise wine grapes as often as we can in order to search out and bring back unique and delightful wines for our Members.
We send our vineyard discoveries, recommended wines and invitations to special wine tasting events to you in our ‘Bulletins’, the Arthur’s Cellar newsletter. All our past issues are listed under “Bulletins” at the bottom of the left sidebar.
Over the past three decades we have traveled and tasted extensively in southern France and Italy. I can’t count the number of times we said, “Isn’t it too bad we can’t get this wine back home”. Now we can, and we invite you to join us!
How it Works
There are no initiation fees, membership dues or other obligations associated with club membership. To become a Member, simply click on Join.
We will tell you about new wines and wineries in our Bulletin and a complete listing of all available wines will be posted on our website.
Ordering is simple. Just click “Order” on the left sidebar on our homepage or click here [Order] and follow the instructions. The LCBO requires that wine be ordered by the full case, usually either six or twelve bottles. We also offer sampler cases of a vintner’s products whenever practical (the LCBO requires that each wine in a mixed case be in the same alcohol range for duty purposes).
When you “check out” you will be able to pay with your favourite credit or debit card via PayPal. If you prefer, just let me know what you want and then send us a cheque (Arthur Sellers & Company) to 286 Spring Garden Road in Oakville.
We will show you the ‘Last Date to Order’ with each wine on offer ... this is the day that we will stop taking orders and will bring all our Members wine orders to the LCBO for processing.
The LCBO requires that you sign their order form to confirm the wine you have requested and to waive their laboratory analyses which otherwise would cost $200 per label ordered. In the past we had approximately 1,000 bottles tested and not a single one was rejected by the LCBO. We will send you the LCBO order form electronically and ask that your return it to us signed the same way or by fax -905-845-0879.
Within two to three months we will let you know that your wine is ready for delivery (it has to come from France or Italy and be cleared by the LCBO). You can follow the progress of your orders by clicking on “Delivery Status”. We will personally deliver directly to those living in the Toronto area. Members residing outside this area will pick up their orders at the LCBO store they specified when they originally joined the club. We will provide you with an electronic ‘Order Confirmation”. Just bring it and some photo ID to your local LCBO store to collect your wine.
Then you can enjoy your wine, tell all your friends and order more!
Please note: The LCBO is the only entity authorized to sell beverage alcohol in Ontario. Arthur Sellers & Company and Arthur’s Cellar Wine Club do not sell or markup beverage alcohol, but rather, arrange for customers to purchase it from the LCBO. Our prices include the LCBO sale price plus a fee to cover the cost of sourcing, handling and marketing the wine. The LCBO’s sale prices are available on request.
Also, you must be 19 years of age or older and not legally restricted from owning or consuming alcoholic beverages to become a Member.
